Black Rock Bicycles

We are a small group who fell in love with the Burning Man event but also loved bicycles. We saw a lot of folks show up with old bikes that broke so we would help fix them. Some fixer upper bikes let the owner down so hard that they got left behind. This became a bigger problem for the the Burning Man event, as we all know that we should leave no trace . So Steve, Scott and Randy started renting bikes that we had fixed up as we grew we able to buy new bikes and rent them. We also made custom art bikes with the funky old bike that we keep up and running . We have found a lot of hurdles ( mostly from a local bike shop) that may have kept us from keeping this going, but as we all know when you get to the Playa the difficulties that you endure just seem to disappear with the wind. The goal of Black Rock Bicycles bike rental program is to not have any bad bikes left on the playa. We, as most everyone else have other jobs to support the shop, We take a portion of the profits and give back to the community .We give all of the kids bike that we get and fix up to the Reno Sparks Gospel Mission as well as the Lions Club. We also donate new bicycles to local events that support the community. The rest goes back into new rental bikes for the participants of the Burning Man event.
