Melrose Fat Tyre Festival

10 June 2011 to 13 June 2011

Located three hours drive from Adelaide, Melrose is a progressive community nestled at the foot of Mount Remarkable.

The Melrose Fat Tyre Festival is a weekend of superb single-track riding amongst the ancient Red Gum trees in the foothills of Mount Remarkable. There are nearly 100 kilometres of trails ready for some nifty moves, from green tracks for beginners to blue runs for the more experienced - and of course black runs for those who are pretty handy with a treadly.

The packed program offers rides every morning and afternoon, plus skills sessions, basic maintenance courses, night riding, evening feasts and a big party on Saturday night with a live band for all the family.

And the best part of it - no vehicles required once you are in Melrose - all rides take about one minute to get to the trailhead, and we have two pubs for our population of 200 people.

There'll be campfire fun, the clunker criterion held in the main street, spectacular dirt bike displays and the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that Melrose is famous for. Need any more reasons?
