Adventure Xstream Durango will be a drastic change from the canyon lands of Moab . The course offers up world class single track mountain biking. Set in the beautiful back country of the San Juan Mountains, teams will test their mettle in the third stop in the AdventureXstream Series. So, come join us in Durango in June!

The Purgatory Challenge Mountain Bike Race will start and finish at the Purgatory Ski Area (Durango Mountain Resort). This course highlights some of the best single track riding anywhere and will test riders on this ~50 mile course.
Aid Stations:
You should not rely entirely on the aid stations. Please make sure you have adequate water and food of your own. Aid Stations will be stocked with Water, Heed, Coke/Soda, PBJ, Apples, Bananas, Oranges, Cookies, and a limited supply of Hammer Gels.

1. Racers will ascend the 1990 Worlds Course from the base of the ski area to Elbert Creek Road
2. Racers will turn left on Elbert Creek Rd, Stay on Elbert Creek Road for 8 miles then turn left at the Dutch/Pinkerton Trail Head.
3. Racers will stay on the Dutch/Pinkerton Trail until they reach the Jones Creek Trail
4. Racers will turn right and descend the Jones Creek Trail
5. At the Base of Jones Creek Trail is the Lower Hermosa Creek Trail Head Aid Station (Restrooms)
6. Racers will ascend the Hermosa Creek Trail until they reach the Upper Hermosa Creek Aid Station (Restrooms)
7. Racers will turn right and ascend the Hermosa Park Road and Elbert Creek Rd, back to the top of the Ski Area
8. Racers will descend the 1990 Worlds Course to the finish (The exact way they started the race on the 1990 Worlds Course)
Note: Lower Hermosa Aid Station Cut-Off time is 2:30pm. You will not be permitted to continue if you miss this cut-off time.
Mtn Bike Race Rules:
1. You must have your required gear (Bike, Helmet, Hydration System)
2. This is a solo event, no towing is allowed for those teams trying to accumulate points in the series.
3. The course will be marked with Event Arrows and existing Forest Service Signs. YOU are responsible for knowing the course and following the correct trails. An outline of the course and trails will be given to you at check-in.
4. We strongly recommend bringing the "Recommended" gear and clothing. Weather is unpredictable and you should be prepared. This is a backcountry race!
