Central Oregon is renowned for its high desert climate and landscape. The area has always been recreation paradise with mountain, rivers, forests, high desert and lots of public access.

The relatively gentle slopes of the mountains and hills are especially well-suited to mountain biking and cross-country skiing.

The latitude and longitude tic marks along the border of the map can be helpful, in conjunction with a GPS receiver, in approximating your location on the map. Keep in mind that many factors can affect the performance and accuracy of GPS readings and as such should never replace good common sense when enjoying the outdoors.
