This map covers several excellent trail systems near Durango, but not considered part of Durango area trails.
Until now, there's never been a proper trail map or guide for riding in the Farmington, New Mexico area, and I'm personally damned excited to finally see one! Glade Run and Alien Run are excellent trails not far from Durango, but in an area that has relatively few mountain bikers. The annual Road Apple Rally (nope, it's not a road race) is the longest, continuously held mountain bike race in the world! Glade Run is a fun, fast, rolly trail area. Because of its lack of long climbs, it's great for beginners and single-speeds, but is also a blast to really get moving on for experienced riders.
Just across the border into Colorado, Phil's World is even less well known than the Farmington area trails, but Farid, the cartographer and mountain biker who made these trails, absolutely raves about the trails.
If you are in Durango to mountain bike you MUST ride the super sick Phil’s World trail system in Cortez, CO. The flow of these trails is amazing!!!
The opposite side includes high desert riding south of Durango at the Road Apple trail system in Farmington, NM and the Alien Run Trail in Aztec, NM. Also, a Four Corners regional map. Information about regional National Parks & Monuments. Local races; 12 Hours of Mesa Verde, Road Apple Rally & The Alien Run.
