The map depicts and includes summary information for 94 named hiking, biking, and equestrian trails, representing more than 200 total miles, around Sedona, the Village of Oak Creek, and Oak Creek Canyon.

A trail table provides a quick reference guide for all 94 trails; and includes trail mileage, elevation range, difficulty ratings for both hikers and bikers, and a brief thumbnail description of the trail. The map includes campgrounds, picnic areas, trailheads, wilderness areas, landmarks, scenic views, and vortexes.

Vertical profiles for 60 select trails help users judge the difficulty of a trail before embarking on a hike or ride. All of the profiles are depicted at the same scale, which makes it possible to visually compare profiles for different trails.

Shaded relief gives a 3-D appearance to the map and makes topography much easier to read. Contour lines are depicted at an interval of 50 feet and the map includes spot elevations.

Trail alignments were generated using a GPS and then referenced against existing sources of information. All of the trails have been hiked or biked by Emmitt Barks Cartography, and include UTM coordinates for GPS users. Trail alignments were derived using a global positioning system (GPS), which gives the map unequaled accuracy and completeness.

The map is 24 by 37 inches in size, folds down to approximately 4 by 7.75 inches, and is printed in full color on both sides of durable, waterproof, tear-resistant, synthetic paper. The scale is 1:29,000 (1 inch = 2,417 feet or 0.468 miles).

The first edition of the map was released in April of 2005, and includes the latest changes to the trail network.

Wholesale cost is $5.50 per map (suggested retail is $10). Terms are net 30, and any unsold maps can be returned for a full refund.
