This main trail to hike Pikes Peak, Barr Trail in Colorado Springs is the first leg to the top of the mountain. Starting at the Cog railway, the first 3.5 miles of trail are a solid climb with some technical hard spots, and the next two are a gradual climb to Barr Campground. If you’re screaming legs are up for tackling the rest of this fourteener, lock up your bike at the campground and hike the remaining 7.3 miles to the summit Pikes Peak. Don’t forget to stretch.
