Crosby - Clear Springs Recreation Area

Directions: Take I-10 east to the La 19 exit. Turn right (north?) and follow 19 all the way across the state line. Once in Mississippi, La 19 turns into Ms 33. Follow 33 through Centerville and Crosby. 33 will reach Hwy. 84 / 98 (a divided highway). Turn right heading toward Roxie. In 5-10 miles, you will see the first Clear Springs sign. Additional signs will lead you to the trailhead.
Information: The woods are beautiful, full of pine trees. The trail is smooth and clean. It has some of the steepest uphills I have ever ridden. Definitely my favorite ride!

Hernando - Arkabutla Lake Dam

Directions: Exit at the Hernando, MS exit off of Interstate 55 in NW Mississippi. Turn west onto Hwy 304 (Holly Springs St). Keep going approximately 9 to 10 miles to the town of Eudora. (This town consists of a cross roads with a Baptist Church and two gas station/country stores) Turn left at this cross roads which is 301 and there should be plenty signs that point to the lake. Go 4 miles and turn left onto Pratt Rd. This road goes into the Park and ends at the dam. Turn right at the dam and left at the first road. (Next to the spillway) This road goes to a picnic area. The trail head for the bike trail and the nature trails are in this picnic area. They are well marked and maps are at the trail head in a little box on the trail head sign. This is a rural area of Ms. and signs are sparse.
Description: Trail Description: Single track and double track. Very flat, sandy at times. Aproximately 5 mile loop. Well maintained. The trail is fairly easy and good for beginners. However, beginners need to watch out for the inclines on which stepping logs have been imbedded to accomadate hikers. Watch out for all of the joggers, too! Lots of them. It is a really beautiful nature trail.

Starkville - Research and Technology Park (ERC)

Directions: If you are coming from Columbus on Highway 82 there will be signs for the "Research and Technology" park. Take a right off the highway. Take A right at the stop sign. Follow the circle around until the turn around spot. Park here and ride hill that is on your right.
Description: These trails are very twisty. There are a few technical spots. You can make a five mile loop without crossing any other trails. One or two stream crossings depending on the time of year. The trail is only 5 minutes from from the MSU campus. Maps are available for free from the bicycle shop. If you do get a map from the shop tell me about it.
